When deciding which ecommerce platform to use for your next store, it can sometimes be difficult to find the perfect match, while Squarespace is definitely one of the big players on the market, there may be reasons why you would prefer to go with another platform. If this is where you are at, then I have complied a list of 10 platforms that can be used as an alternative to Squarespace.
There is no doubt that Shopify is considered to be one of the top industry players today, the platform offers a powerful Squarespace alternative. The rich set of Shopify’s features coupled with ease of use will probably make it a worthwhile option for most ecommerce needs.
Similar to Shopify, Bigcommerce is also considered to be an industry leader with a comprehensive set of standard ecommerce platform features and some extras on top. What’s even better is the fact that the standard plan is quite affordable at $29.95 per month, and the rich feature-list makes it a Squarespace alternative worthy of your consideration.
LemonStand is a platform for the more experienced online store owners who own high volume/high growth ecommerce stores, this platform is more suitable for online stores doing over six figures per year in sales. While certainly not the cheapest ($49/mo. to $149/mo.), this can still be a good Squarespace alternative, especially for high growth stores.
Even though this platform might be priced a little higher than most competitors, at $24/mo., rising to $299/mo., this platform brings all the standard ecommerce features to you and also an uncommon one – a feature that allows you to admin multiple stores from a single login. Even if you don’t need this sort of capability, AmeriCommerce can still be a viable alternative to Squarespace.
Packed with all of the features you have grown to love from other ecommerce platforms, and with pricing ($15/mo. to $135/mo.) matching the industry average, Volusion is not only one of the ecommerce platform industry leaders but also a very popular shopping cart that you could consider as a Squarespace alternative.
What makes BigCartel great is the fact that they offer a free plan if you are selling less than 5 products, and even if you sell more, then their prices are slightly less-than industry average prices ($9.99/mo. to $29.99/mo.). The only problem with BigCartel is the fact that there is a max limit of 300 products you can add to your store.
3dCart comes loaded with all the standard features that you rely on from an online shopping cart service sprinkled with some extras like affiliate marketing program creation, dropshipping support etc. and priced just about at par with the average industry rates ($19/mo. To $129/mo.), 3dCart is another worthy substitute for Squarespace.
While CoreCommerce is priced a little higher than the industry average (at $39.99/mo. to $199.99/mo.), the platform does offer some extra in-built features such as store-wide multi-lingual capability and a large number of third-party integrations over and above the standard set of ecommerce platform features.
If you are familiar with using the WordPress CMS as the basic platform for hosting your store, then the wooCommerce plugin can function as a viable alternative to Squarespace. This plugin not only provides the regular ecommerce features, but also comes free.
If you are looking for another feature-rich and free platform that even gives you a choice to use their hosted service or go the self-hosted way, then PrestaShop is a great alternative to the other platforms.
As you ca see above, there are many alternatives to Squarespace. I hope the post above has helped to make the process of finding an alternative a little easier. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message in the comments below.
