Typedream Review 2025: Is This No-Code Website Builder for You?

Do you dream of creating a shiny new website without the need to code or design anything yourself? 

Well, now you can. 

Typedream offers users a simple no-code platform that lets anyone build professional websites with minimal technological know-how – but does it live up to expectations? 

To answer that very question, I've put Typedream to the test so you don’t have to. 

But if you don't have time to read my whole Typedream review, here's my bottom line up front:

If you’re new to website building and need a simple, easy-to-navigate website builder, Typedream is a good choice.

However, some features are still limited or in development, which may feel restricting for some users. 

With that said, let’s dive into the meat and potatoes of this Typedream review.

Quick Verdict

Typedream is perfect for creators and small businesses looking for a simple, no-code solution to build beautiful websites, blogs, and forms. It’s especially strong for selling digital products and integrating with Notion.

However, if you need advanced eCommerce features, extensive customization, or scalability for larger projects, it falls short. Platforms like Squarespace or Shopify might be better options in those cases.

The recent acquisition by beehiiv adds potential for more powerful integrations and growth tools, making Typedream a solid choice for those in the content creation and digital product space.

What Is Typedream? 

In a nutshell, Typedream is a no-frills website builder that first hit the market in 2019. To date, it’s been used to build more than 118,000 websites and over 22,000 blogs. It also has a growing community of over 84,000 creators. 

You might have encountered Notion and Webflow if you've been researching web-builders. To put Typedream into context, you can consider it like a blend between the two. 

Other reviews have likened it to these two platforms, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s as simple to use as Notion.

But you can create web pages and landing pages that are just as beautiful and responsive as Webflow without battling a complicated interface. 

In addition to website and blog creation, users can build forms in just a few steps and sell digital products. 

But, to sell digital products, you’ll need to use Typedream’s Samcart or Gumroad integration. Unfortunately, Typedream doesn’t appear to offer much in the way of native eCommerce features.

Of course, we’ll take a more in-depth look at Typedream’s core features in a sec, but for now, here are a few key functionalities worthy of note:

• A straightforward drag-and-drop editor 
• An abundance of website templates (60+)
• A built-in content management system (CMS)
• SEO features and analytics 

Note: If you’re using Typedream’s CMS features, you’ll need a Notion account (don’t worry, you can sign up for free). 

Beyond website and blog creation, Typedream allows users to build forms and sell digital products using integrations like Samcart or Gumroad. However, it lacks robust native eCommerce features.

Recently, Typedream achieved a significant milestone by joining forces with beehiiv, a top-tier newsletter platform known for its focus on growth and monetization tools.

This acquisition positions Typedream as a key player in beehiiv’s ecosystem, integrating its AI-powered website-building technology into beehiiv’s suite.

The Impact of the Beehiiv Acquisition

Under beehiiv’s umbrella, Typedream will lead website-building efforts while continuing to offer its existing tools and features without immediate changes for users.

This partnership is a game-changer for Typedream, as it expands its reach to beehiiv’s vast network of newsletter creators.

For Typedream users, this move signifies exciting new opportunities, including potential integrations with beehiiv’s tools, enhanced growth features, and a more seamless experience for creating digital assets.

This acquisition is a testament to Typedream’s growth and its commitment to simplifying website creation for creators and small businesses alike.

Typedream Features

With the basics covered, let’s take a closer look at Typedream’s key features:

Templates

Over 60 customizable templates are available on Typedream, so you’re bound to find one suitable for your needs. You’ll be pleased to hear that Typedream’s templates are accessible on both free and paid plans.  

Templates are helpfully organized into a variety of categories, including startups, agencies, designers, fashion, books/writing, artists, and more.

On top of that, templates are further divided into subcategories, including portfolio, landing page, directory, shop, SaaS, and CMS. 

Of course, you have the freedom to edit these pre-built templates. However, you won’t need any coding know-how to do so.

Instead, you can drag and drop different elements (such as text and headings) around the page to make it your own, using Typedream’s drag-and-drop editor – which leads us nicely onto the next section…

Drag-And-Drop Site Editor 

One of Typedream’s most notable features is its editor, which allows you to drag and drop columns and blocks. However, you're somewhat restricted by the layout of your chosen theme and the editor's grid as to where you can place said columns and blocks.

Before you can use the editor, you’ll need to pick whether you’re building a web page, a ‘link in bio,’ a website form, or a blog.

You can also choose multiple pages to add to your website and edit these later, including feature pages, product pages, about me and about us sections, and more.

You can start building and editing your site with just one simple command, ‘/.’ Once you’ve typed the ‘/’ command, you’ll be presented with a dropdown list detailing the web elements you can start adding to your website, including columns, headings, images, text, and more. 

At this point, it’s worth noting that Typedream's site editor can be accessed on both free and paid plans. 

Create Forms 

As I’ve already mentioned, you can create and edit forms conveniently from Typedream’s editor. To embed a new form into your site, just type the command ‘/form’ – it’s as simple as that! 

You’ll be pleased to hear you can use several form-building templates. Don’t worry; you can customize them to make it your own.

Alternatively, you can edit your existing forms directly from the ‘Site Settings’ section.

Plus, you can also create a custom thank you message to appear after a visitor successfully submits their form. 

From your Typedream dashboard, you can view your form submissions and download them to Sheets, Airtable, etc., through Zapier.

Note: To create and edit landing pages and forms, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan. 

Create a Link in Bio

If you're looking to drive traffic from your social media accounts, I.e., Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

Tyepedream allows its users to get a bit more creative than just providing a list of links. Instead, you can create card-based links in bios that you can arrange however you wish.

You'll also benefit from an editor that empowers you to inject images and colors into the mix!

Plus, you can create a short and memorable dumpl.ink URL to paste into the bios of your social accounts. Needless to say, this is excellent for maintaining brand consistency. 

Analytics 

Typedream provides access to plenty of in-depth analytics to give you an insight into your website’s performance.

Metrics include: 

• Unique visitors
• Total page views
• Bounce rate 
• Visit duration 

You’ll also benefit from more in-depth analytics, including: 

• Top sources: I.e., the sources that drive the most website traffic- Google, Facebook, Linkedin, and more. 
• Top pages: I.e., which pages on your website are the most popular, including how many visitors they’ve received over your chosen time period. 
• Countries map: I.e., where in the world your website visitors are from, giving you a clearer idea of your reach. 
• Devices: Here, you can see which devices visitors use to access your site – tablet, desktop, mobile, or laptop.

Note: To access analytics, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan. 

Built-In CMS 

Typedream has a built-in content management system (CMS) that’s designed to connect with Notion so that you can display all your blog posts, podcasts, newsletters, etc., through Typedream. 

Typedream plans to support other databases in the future, including Airtable and Typedream’s own database. Still, for now, you’ll have to work exclusively with Notion. 

So, how exactly does Typedream’s CMS work? 

Once you’ve chosen the data you want to export from Notion through Typedream’s CMS, it will appear on the front end of your Typedream website (according to the template you’ve chosen). 

The data you’re exporting (as mentioned above) is usually displayed in one of two ways: 

• Collection view: Here, your data is shown as a list of items. So, if you’re exporting data from a blog website, this would include a list of your blog posts.
• Item page view: Typedream generates a page for each item. So, for a blog, each blog post would take up an entire page itself. 

Note: To access the CMS feature, you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro plan. 

Typedream’s Integrations

You can connect Typedream with a variety of external applications, including:

• Stripe 
• Intercom
• MailerLite
• Google Forms 
• Open AI 
• Folk 
• Mailchimp

…and more. 

You can also use the eCommerce integrations ‘SamCart’ and ‘Gumroad’ to connect to your ‘buy’ button. This allows you to sell digital products and services on your website. Don’t worry; these integrations are easy to configure, so again, there’s no coding to worry about!

That’s right – it’s free to get started with Typedream! This is great for those wanting to dip their toes in and get familiar with Typedream’s interface. 

On the free plan, you can expect the following: 

• The ability to create unlimited web pages (but you can only publish one live page on your website) 
• You can add a ‘link in bio.’ 
• A Typedream subdomain
• Typedream’s branding on your website 

Mini Plan ($5/mo annually, or $7/mo billed monthly)

You’ll get all the free plan features, plus: 

• An email collection widget 
• The option to sell digital products on your site (subject to a 5% transaction fee) 
• Access to analytics 
• One seat (I.e., a user you can grant site access to)

Launch Plan ($12/mo annually, or $15/mo billed monthly) 

With the Launch plan, you’ll get access to everything in the Mini plan, plus: 

• You can use your own custom domain. 
• Team collaboration tools that enable you to work with others on your website’s design, development, and maintenance. For example, you can add extra team member accounts with varied access levels to your site. 
• You can publish unlimited pages on your website.
• The removal of Typedream’s badge from your site 
• Code injection (for those that want the freedom to use their coding skills) 
• You can sell digital products with a 2% transaction fee.

Pro Plan ($20/mo billed annually, or $25/mo billed monthly) 

With the Pro plan, you get everything, plus: 

• Up to 5,000 submissions on forms 
• Up to 5000 blog items 
• Priority support on Discord 

Typedream’s Pros and Cons

Now that we’ve put Typedream under the microscope, below is a quick rundown of the platform’s main benefits and potential snags:

Pros:

• Simple interface: Typedream’s interface is clean and easy to use. You can access most commands for website (or individual page creation) by typing the ‘/’ command. You can also access user guides and videos explaining how to use the drag-and-drop editor’s different elements.
• Access to a variety of templates: Typedream offers over 60 templates to help you lay the foundations of your website, blog, or forms.
• Analytics: If SEO and data are top priorities, you can take advantage of Typedream's comprehensive analytics tools. These provide unique insights into your audience demographics, site performance, and more, which can be used to help you make more informed decisions about your site structure and development.
• Typedream is SEO-friendly: Typedream will automatically generate a sitemap from your web pages – so that’s one less thing to worry about. Typedream also enables you to create static sites, which apparently are preferred by search engines like Google. 
• There’s a free plan!

Cons:

• Limited CMS: Although Typedream’s CMS is expected to expand, it’s currently pretty limited. You can only use it with Notion, which may be unappealing to some users. 
• Design limitations: Templates are customizable, but the placement of individual elements is limited by grids. 
• Some features are still in development: For example, the CMS currently only works with Notion. 
• Version history can be slow to load: Unfortunately, some Typedream users have complained about Typedream being slow to load your version history, which can be frustrating.
• Self-help materials are a bit limited: I wanted to find more information about listing digital products on a Typedream website, but I couldn’t find an article that could help me with that query. 

Typedream Review: My Final Verdict

So, now we’ve taken a deep dive into the features and benefits of Typedream, what’s the final verdict of this Typedream review? 

Overall, I think Typedream is an okay website builder that can help hobbyists and professionals build and launch their websites with its simple drag-and-drop editor.

Personally, I believe Typedream better meets the needs of freelancers and small businesses because there’s a decent array of pricing plans to suit different budgets. Most novices will find creating a website, blog posts, and forms easy. 

However, if you want to scale your website, you might find Typedream restricting. Not least because even with the most expensive plan, there are limits on the number of blog posts you can publish and form submissions you can receive. 

Also, its native eCommerce features are extremely limited, so if you want to scale online stores, Typedream might not be the best option for you.
