What has changed since we first compared them is the thing that now matters most. Revolut is a fully licensed UK bank, and Monese is not. Revolut Bank UK launched in March 2026 after the Prudential Regulation Authority lifted the restrictions on its licence, so eligible deposits are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Monese still operates as an e-money business, and it is now owned by fellow UK fintech Pockit.
