After testing Tidio across multiple ecommerce stores, we found it to be one of the most user-friendly live chat platforms on the market. In fact, we’ve awarded it our Best Live Chat Tool for Ease of Use badge two years running.

Tidio’s pricing is refreshingly simple compared to many other live chat tools, but as with any subscription-based platform, there are a few things to watch out for, especially as your store grows.

Below, we break down each plan in detail, including which one we think offers the best value, what you actually get, and when you might need to upgrade.

Tidio Pricing Plans Overview

Tidio currently offers four core subscription plans, plus two standalone products (Lyro AI and Flows). Here’s how they compare:

PlanPriceConversationsBest for
Starter$29/month100/monthNew or small ecommerce stores
GrowthFrom $59/monthFrom 250/monthGrowing brands with active support needs
PlusFrom $749/monthCustomHigh-volume or multi-brand stores
PremiumContact for pricingCustomEnterprise support and managed AI services

If you don’t need a full support suite, you can also purchase:

  • Lyro AI as a standalone chatbot (from $39/month)
  • Flows as a conversion automation tool (from $29/month)

All plans come with a 7-day free trial and scale based on usage.

Starter Plan – $29/month

Quick Summary

  • Annual price: $29/month ($348/year)
  • Conversations: 100 billable/month
  • Best for: Solopreneurs and early-stage stores

Tidio’s Starter plan includes just enough to get your live chat up and running, with a handful of automation and AI tools included.

Here’s what you get:

  • 100 billable conversations/month
  • 50 Lyro AI Agent conversations (one-time only)
  • 100 visitors reached via Flows
  • Live chat & ticketing
  • Basic analytics
  • Social media integrations
  • Up to 10 user seats

This plan is a good place to start if you’re not yet handling high chat volume, or just want to experiment with live chat and automation before committing to a bigger plan.

What We Found

When we tested the Starter plan, we found setup to be quick and intuitive. Within 15 minutes, we were able to add the chat widget to our site and configure our first Flow using one of Tidio’s templates.

However, we ran into limits quickly. The 100-conversation cap sounds generous, but for stores running even small campaigns, this can be reached in a matter of days, especially if you’re using chat proactively to greet customers or answer product questions.

If you’re launching a sale, or expect traffic spikes, it’s worth considering the Growth plan instead.

Growth Plan – From $59/month

Quick Summary

  • Annual price: From $59/month
  • Conversations: Starts at 250/month
  • Best for: Growing ecommerce stores with steady support needs

The Growth plan is Tidio’s most popular option, and after testing it, we can see why. It unlocks all of the key support features missing from Starter, while still being accessible to small businesses.

You get everything in Starter, plus:

  • From 250 conversations/month
  • Viewed pages history (see what customers browsed)
  • Live typing (see what customers are typing in real time)
  • Macros (canned replies)
  • Auto-response and chat assignment
  • Permissions and team controls
  • Advanced analytics
  • Full access to Flows
  • Up to 10 users (can be expanded)

What We Found

Growth feels like the “complete” version of Tidio for most ecommerce brands. During testing, we were able to set up smarter automation workflows using page-view triggers and segment customers based on behavior. The live typing feature also helped us prepare faster responses, especially for frequent product-related questions.

The extra AI and automation tools make this plan a big step up from Starter. If you’re handling more than 10–15 chats per day, Growth is the plan we recommend. It’s cost-effective and gives your team the tools they need to manage support more efficiently.

Plus Plan – From $749/month

Quick Summary

  • Annual price: From $749/month
  • Conversations: Custom volume
  • Best for: Large ecommerce stores, multi-region brands, or stores using advanced AI

Tidio Plus is designed for scaling ecommerce operations. If you’re managing multiple storefronts, teams, or languages, this is where things get serious.

You get everything in Growth, plus:

  • From 300 Lyro AI conversations/month
  • Dedicated Success Manager
  • Custom branding
  • Multiproject and department support
  • Multilanguage widgets
  • Higher limits for Flows and AI usage

What We Found

During testing, the Plus plan gave us access to enterprise-level customization and support. Tidio’s team provided onboarding assistance and helped us set up department routing and branded experiences across two different storefronts.

While the price tag is steep, this plan is a solid choice if your support ops span multiple products, languages, or teams. It’s also ideal if AI is a central part of your support strategy, the higher Lyro limits and Success Manager support make scaling much easier.

Premium Plan – Contact for Pricing

Quick Summary

  • Annual price: Custom
  • Conversations: Custom
  • Best for: Large brands focused on AI automation at scale

Premium takes things a step further by turning AI automation into a managed service. With this plan, Tidio promises to automate at least 50% of your support conversations, and manages the implementation for you.

You get everything in Plus, plus:

  • From 3,000 Lyro AI conversations
  • Lyro as a managed service
  • Guaranteed 50% automation rate
  • Pay-per-resolution billing
  • Mobile SDK
  • Super admin roles
  • Priority service and monitoring

What We Found

This is the only plan where Tidio takes full ownership of AI performance. In testing, Lyro was able to handle routine queries (like return policies and shipping delays) with ease, and the managed setup meant we didn’t have to manually train or monitor anything.

It’s not for everyone, but for high-volume stores looking to reduce support headcount without compromising quality, Premium offers a compelling solution.

Lyro AI (Standalone) – From $39/month

Quick Summary

  • Price: From $39/month
  • AI Conversations: From 50/month
  • Best for: Stores that need FAQ automation without full chat tools

Lyro is Tidio’s conversational AI tool, available as a standalone product. It’s designed to help businesses automate repetitive support queries without needing a full team.

Features include:

  • Website-trained AI responses
  • Human handoff fallback
  • Customizable tone and language
  • Works independently or with other Tidio plans

What We Found

Lyro is easy to train and surprisingly accurate when handling structured queries. For stores that receive a lot of repetitive “Where’s my order?” or “What’s your return policy?” messages, it can significantly cut down ticket volume.

Because it’s available separately, Lyro is a great entry point for teams that want to try AI before committing to a full support platform.

Flows (Standalone) – From $29/month

Quick Summary

  • Price: From $29/month
  • Visitors Reached: From 2,000
  • Best for: Conversion optimization, lead capture

Tidio Flows are rule-based automation sequences that guide users through specific actions, like capturing leads or handling missed chats.

You get:

  • No-code workflow editor
  • Behavior-based triggers
  • Custom forms and response options
  • Response routing to agents or email

What We Found

We tested Flows during a product launch and found them useful for capturing emails and engaging hesitant buyers. One Flow offered a discount code after 30 seconds on a product page, and contributed to a noticeable lift in conversions.

If you’re not ready for full chat support, Flows give you a simple, low-effort way to engage customers and recover lost sales.

Hidden Costs to Be Aware Of

Tidio’s pricing is transparent overall, but there are a few extras that can increase your total cost, especially as usage scales.

Add-OnCost
Extra AI conversations$0.02–$0.05 per conversation
Higher Flow visitor limitsCustom based on volume
Dedicated onboardingIncluded in Plus/Premium
Email marketing integrationsFree via Zapier or native
Shopify/BigCommerce integrationFree, but usage may be capped

If you rely heavily on automation or see sudden spikes in traffic, these usage-based fees can add up. We recommend reviewing usage monthly and fine-tuning Flows and AI to avoid unnecessary overages.

Which Tidio Plan Is Right for You?

Still not sure which plan is right for your business? Use this quick table to match based on your current growth stage:

Business TypeRecommended Plan
New or side projectStarter
Small but growing storeGrowth
High-volume, multi-store brandPlus
Enterprise support teamPremium
Only need AI automationLyro AI (Standalone)
Only need conversion flowsFlows (Standalone)

Our recommendation? If you're actively growing and fielding regular customer chats, the Growth plan offers the best balance between cost and features. It’s where most ecommerce stores will feel right at home.

Final Thoughts

Tidio is one of the most flexible and approachable live chat tools we’ve tested, especially for small to mid-sized ecommerce stores. Its modular pricing makes it easy to start small and grow without needing to replatform.

While the Starter plan is great for testing, we found the Growth plan delivers the most value overall, unlocking essential support tools without the complexity (or cost) of enterprise-level systems.

And with Flows and Lyro available as standalone tools, there’s no need to commit to a full platform if all you want is automation.

If you’re looking for a clean, modern live chat solution that’s built with ecommerce in mind, Tidio is one of the strongest contenders out there.
