The age of affordable mobile apps is upon us. You can find dozens of builders online that help you construct a simple small business app without spending thousands of dollars on a developer. It works by providing pre-built templates and simple builders that anyone can manage.

The only problem is that some of the builders can get pricey the more downloads you have, and I've yet to find a solution to truly integrates with an ecommerce store.

However, that may have changed recently, since we were introduced to a company called Plobal Apps.

The basic idea behind the system is that if you have a Shopify store, you can generate a mobile app within around 10 minutes. All of your products are synced, you get some push notifications and you can get your app in the two major app stores.

It sounds pretty exciting, so let's take a look under the hood.

The Top Features From Plobal Apps

A Quick Integration With Shopify

The main reason this app builder seems to work so well is because it combines nicely with Shopify. What's more is that you don't have to pay a dime for 14 days, so considering Shopify has a trial as well, you technically don't have to pay anything for the first few weeks.

If you've ever worked with Shopify, you know that it only takes a few minutes to install a Shopify app. It's the same thing with Plobal Apps, making it much easier to use than a third-party app builder.

A Nice Dashboard for Seeing How Your App Does

Shopify already displays how many people are buying on your website, but now you'll be able to view other stats like app downloads, how many sales are going through the app and more. Once again, I like this because of the consolidation.

Keep in mind, however, that Shopify displays both mobile and website sales combined. So, if you would like to get a breakdown of only the mobile sales, it would require you to go to the Plobal Apps dashboard instead.

Pre-built App Designs and Layouts

Since ecommerce business people don't have all the time in the world, it's essential that processes go as smooth as possible. The big question I had with Plobal Apps is whether or not the templates were any good

It turns out they look pretty darn nice. All you have to do is take a template and plug in your own branding elements. The main process that occurs upon installation is all of your products are automatically pulled from the store and placed in the app.

This includes pricing, product imagery, descriptions, variants and more. You also don't have to know anything about coding, making it much smoother for beginners who don't want to reach out to a developer.

Support for Android and Apple Play

Most major payment processors are allowed through Plobal Apps, or you can simply link to whatever you currently have on Shopify. Although Android and Apple Pay are fairly new technologies, they are provided through Plobal Apps. Therefore, this opens up a few other options for when users want to pay you.

You may not see a huge percentage of folks paying through these options, but chances are you're missing out on some revenue if you choose a platform that doesn't support them.

Clean Page Templates

We talked a little bit about the pre-built templates above, but it's worthwhile to look into the actual pages that come along with those templates. For example, you probably want some sort of grid view of your products to reveal your items in a more professional manner.

Here are some other pages you can expect on your app:

  • List view
  • Product view
  • Cart page
  • Splash screen
  • Homescreen
  • My profile
  • Product Listings
  • Categories and Sub-Categories
  • Add To Favorite
  • Add To Cart
  • Apple/Android Pay
  • Orders Page
  • Info Pages

Plobal Apps Pricing

Plobal Apps offers a 14-day free trial for each of its plans, and you can signup for a free demo if you'd like to speak with someone. Initially I thought the pricing was a little high, but when you compare to other app builders online, you really can't go wrong with Plobal Apps. Especially since the system automatically integrates with your platform.

  • Starter – For $29 per month you get complete store integration, an Android or iOS app, three push notifications per month, two app updates per month and email support.
  • Growth – For $99 per month you get everything in the previous plan, fully native Android and iOS apps, unlimited push notifications, social media integrations, 24/7 email and call support and basic analytics.
  • Power – For $199 per month you get everything in the previous plan, Shopify Buy SDK integration, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Native Checkout, advanced analytics and a dedicated account manager.

Also keep in mind that your app is published to the App Store and Play Store for each of the plans.

Plobal Apps Support

As you may have noticed in the pricing area, email support is provided for the lowest pricing plan. After that, you receive 24/7 phone and email support. This is about as good as it gets, but what else can you expect from the company?

Well, they do have a blog, which provides updates on the platform and some solid guides for business owners who are new to mobile apps. Although Plobal Apps doesn't seem to have a knowledge base or forum, you can reach out to them on social media. Overall, they seem to cover most of the areas I would expect from quality support.

Who is Plobal Apps Good For?

As you can see from the great Plobal Apps reviews on Shopify, users are saying that it's easy to create an app and they seem to turn out crisp and clean. Considering installing a Shopify app is so simple, it's pretty easy to recommend this to just about anyone currently using Shopify.

However, anyone with an online store should at least consider Plobal Apps in the coming future. Why? The company is planning on providing support for the following platforms:

  • Shopify
  • Zepo
  • Magento
  • Bigcommerce
  • Squarespace
  • 3dCart
  • WooCommerce
  • WIX Commerce
  • Prestashop
  • Etsy

That covers quite a few platforms, so hopefully most people are covered within the next few months or years.
