As of 2022, 60% of all global business data is stored via the cloud. This isn't surprising, considering the cloud offers flexibility and agility for those looking to expand their resources. As such, cloud computing is essential for businesses and individuals looking for seamless connectivity to manage their documents.

So, today we're looking at Multcloud as a potential stop for cloud computing.

Multcloud is a cloud-based software that provides instant access to all your cloud repositories from one centralized location. As we'll discuss, it offers a wealth of features that give it a competitive edge over other cloud-based services.

That's enough preamble; here's the low down.

MultCloud Review: About Multcloud

Multcloud is an international software company that began in 2012. With the growth of cloud-based repositories, they recognized a lack of synchronization and access between the different services.

The average user might have multiple cloud accounts, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. But, they have to switch between these services to access all of their cloud files.

However, with Multcloud, users can synchronize these repositories into one localized database. This means it automatically syncs the data in its original location whenever a file change is made.

In short, Multcloud makes it easy to manage all your cloud content with one single login.

How to Get Started with Multcloud

To begin using Multcloud, simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Multcloud website and hit ‘sign up for free.’
  2. Next, they'll ask you to fill in your account details.
  3. You'll then need to confirm your email address to get started.
  4. Now, you can go back to Multcloud and log into your account.
  5. In the left-hand panel, you'll find ‘Cloud drives.’ Now find the cloud service you want to connect with and click on the icon.
  6. This will redirect you to the login for that service and prompt you to allow Multcloud access.
  7. Finally, click ‘Allow.’

If you follow these steps, your connected cloud drives will appear in the left-hand panel. You can remove them by right-clicking on their icon if you want to disconnect them from Multcloud.

Once you’ve set up your account, here are the features you can expect:

MultCloud Review: Features

MultCloud Review

As we just said, with the Multcloud app, you can manage files across multiple cloud services. This boasts several benefits:

  • You can increase your total cloud space by combining storage.
  • You can access all of your resources from one interface.
  • You can search files efficiently across multiple cloud storage accounts.
  • You can share files across various cloud storage providers.

This empowers you to better manage your files and folders with just a few clicks. Notably, creating an account is also simple, and the interface is straightforward and intuitive to use. You can easily find all your connected cloud accounts in one place.

File Cloud Transfer

One of Multcloud's best features is the ability to transfer files and folders between cloud drives. You can drag and drop files or copy and paste them between drives. It even allows you to complete offline transfers; here, data syncs as soon as you reconnect to the internet.

Additionally, you can schedule data transfers to automatically go from one drive to another. You can automatically send, cloud backup, or sync photos, documents, or audio clips. Plus, with the Multcloud search filter, you can bulk transfer files by extension name.

How to Transfer Files

Let’s say you want to move a file from Google Drive to Dropbox. Here’s how easy it is:

  1. Select Google Drive from the left-hand panel.
  2. Find the file you want to move and right-click it.
  3. Select ‘copy-to .’This will prompt a window displaying your other drives.
  4. Hit Dropbox. You can use the pull-down tab to select the destination.
  5. Press ‘Okay,’ and it’s done!

Within the pop-up window, you can also choose ‘multi-select' to allow you to send a file to or from multiple drives simultaneously.

File Sync

The next feature of note is the syncing between multiple cloud drives. You only need to edit one repository when modifying a file shared by two drives. The edits will then appear in the other drive.

Depending on your preferences, you can schedule this synchronization or allow Multcloud to handle it automatically. Not only can you synchronize and backup data on multiple cloud drives, but you can also make an additional backup using Multcloud's MySQL database.

Lastly, you can set email notifications to alert you when various transfers or syncs are complete.

How to Sync Files

  1. Login to your Multcloud account.
  2. Select ‘cloud sync’ from the left-hand panel.
  3. You have various options for syncing:
    1. One-way sync: Here, the source folder isn’t affected by changes made to the file in other repositories. Instead, it only syncs changes if modifications are made to the original file.
    2. Two-way sync: With this, files are automatically updated whenever changes are made, regardless of the file's location.
    3. Real-time sync: This enables syncing to occur automatically and in real-time whenever a change is made to files in the repository.
    4. Normal sync: This is where you select one or multiple files, but not the whole folder for syncing.
  4. After you've decided how to sync your files. You can add which repositories you want to sync. You’ll see a box with ‘from’ and ‘to.’ Click on each to prompt your desired cloud drives.
  5. Then, hit ‘sync now.’

As you can see, many options exist for synchronizing files between different cloud services. This feature makes it easy to ensure you always have a data backup without having to tediously download and upload the same file to different repositories.

Security

All cloud repositories and their data are encrypted by Multcloud. This includes when files are transmitted or modified. Multcloud doesn't cache your files on its server to ensure your data is protected, even from them. Your drive passwords are deleted after login.

Lastly, Multcloud is accessed by OAuth authorization such as Google or third-party login. Plus, anyone who accesses your Multcloud space has to request permission from you. However, you can assign them their own login and decide which files they can access.

MultCloud Review: FAQs

Last but not least, let's answer some of the most frequently asked questions we hear about this platform before wrapping up our Multcloud review:

Does Multcloud Give You Cloud Storage Space?

No, Multcloud itself doesn’t offer any storage space. The amount of storage space you have is determined by the limits of the cloud providers you use.

For instance, if you have 20GB on Google Drive and 15GB on Dropbox, you will still only have a total of 35GB.

However, Multcloud does offer a MySQL backup service. So, if any files are lost, you can restore them using Multcloud.

Is Multcloud Safe?

The idea of transferring or synchronizing essential files can be intimidating. What if a failure occurs? Will your files be lost? Etc. But with Multcloud, your files are safe. Whenever you transfer a file from one repository to another, the original file isn't used for the transfer. Instead, a copy is made of the target file; this is what's transferred to the other cloud service.

However, you can select the option to delete the source file. The same will occur if you choose the ‘move sync’ option from the sync methods. But many other synchronization options won't affect the source file.

In terms of security, Multcloud is GDPR compliant. Your personal details, such as passwords, are deleted after you use them. Afterwhich, you'll need to use OAuth authorization to log in between accounts. You don’t log in via Multcloud to access your drive services. It redirects you to the service provider instead.

Additionally, Multcloud uses a 256-bit AES Encryption SSL during all its transfers. This is considered an advanced encryption technology that protects your data against tampering, hacking, or any other malicious activity.

Who's Multcloud Best for?

Multcloud can be used by individuals and enterprises alike.

For businesses, it’s a great way to centralize all your cloud data and collaborate with different cloud users. You'll get the best value for money out of Multcloud by combining the storage space of various cloud providers. This allows organizations and freelancers to coordinate their resources and optimize their storage space using multiple cloud providers.

It's also perfect for hybrid working, where different people within an organization use multiple software to perform tasks in the office or elsewhere.

Lastly, thanks to its low starting cost, it’s an affordable choice for solopreneurs looking to begin managing teams remotely.

MultCloud Review: Our Final Thoughts

For businesses and individuals using cloud-based computing, Multcloud is worth considering. It’s one of the most cost-effective and intuitive software of its kind. Best of all, you can start today free of charge.

More specifically, here’s what we like about it:

Multcloud provides a simple way to streamline cloud computing for individuals and businesses alike. Its features make sending and synchronizing files between multiple cloud providers easy. Not to mention, with Multcloud, your data is safe.

Lastly, with the growth of the cloud, providers sometimes hold a monopoly on storage space, charging huge premiums at their discretion. Multcloud is a way to navigate cloud space that enables you to get the most bang for your buck. After all, it's often cheaper to invest in Multcloud and dip into multiple free pots and more affordable packages offered by cloud providers than to keep shelling out for larger packages. Then you can simply combine them all on Multcloud. What’s not to like about that?

So, are you thinking of using Multcloud? Or are you considering other cloud storage services? For instance, Cloudfuze, webdav, pcloud, or Aomei?
