Vendy Pro advertises itself as a GenX multipurpose Shopify theme. While it's unclear what's so Gen X about it (Familiarity? Minimalism? Not TikTok?), it certainly is multipurpose!

So, whether you're setting up a new Shopify store or revamping your existing one, I think Vendy Pro offers a clean, minimal theme that suits almost any retail store.

In this Vendy Pro review, I'll outline everything this theme offers, from features to pricing to customer support; I'm laying it all out on the table to help you decide if it's the right Shopify theme for you.

There's lots to cover here, so let's jump straight in!

What Is Vendy Pro?

Vendy Pro is a Shopify theme produced by ZEMEZ, a web design and development agency. ZEMEZ is pretty popular in the digital world and works with some big names, including HubSpot, LiveChat, Master Bundles, Growave, and Hura Apps. Alongside Vendy Pro, they produce some other Shopify themes, including:

  • Vendy Fashion
  • Vendy Shopping
  • Vendy Auto

However, as mentioned in the intro, rather than being a niche-specific theme, Vendy Pro is a ‘Gen X multipurpose Shopify theme,’ meaning it should meet the needs of various eCommerce stores.

Design Freedom

It’s easy to make your Shopify store look slick with Vendy Pro‘s minimalist home page designs. There are as many as 15 ready-made homepage options, with apparently more coming soon!

Overall, I think the designs look professional and modern. They have the feel of some of today's high-profile retail websites (think H&M, ASOS, etc.), which might be perfect for your brand,

depending on your offering!

These designs are all customizable, so you can get creative! Some of Vendy Pro's most notable design customization features include:

  • Several options for product page layouts and styles.
  • Add extra sidebars and ‘drawers' to extend your pages. This is handy for including and drawing attention to valuable information like customer reviews.
  • You can create and publish custom pop-ups on your product pages to make it quick and easy for customers to add a product to their shopping cart.

Vendy Pro's Most Notable Features

As a theme that employs straightforward layouts, it's almost surprising how many features Vendy Pro offers. With that said, I’ve tried to gather them all in a comprehensive list below:

  • Wishlist and pop-up Compare window: Customers can create their own product collections and compare similar items to help them make the best purchasing decision.

  • Different product variants: You can list different product variants (e.g., colors and sizes) and customize the way shoppers view these variants, including color swatches.
  • Advanced product filter: You can enable shoppers to filter through your products by colors, size, availability, image swatches, etc.; you don’t have to download and use an additional app to benefit from advanced product filtering.
  • Mobile-first design: Vendy Pro claims to be fully optimized for modern mobile devices, ensuring a seamless user experience across all platforms.
  • Custom badges: You can add custom badges to product images to capture your customers' attention! For instance, to highlight sales or flag products that are selling fast.
  • Media gallery: Using customizable vertical or horizontal image carousels, you can simultaneously display several images on your product pages.

  • Compound mega menu: Using Vendy's section builder, you can build a complex drop-down Mega menu with well-structured categories. The mega menu makes navigating your Shopify store easy.
  • Countdown timer: This pop-up shows how long a promotion has left. This countdown adds a sense of urgency to your shopper's purchasing decisions and might increase the likelihood of making a sale.
  • Breadcrumbs: For the uninitiated, breadcrumbs provide hyperlinks to the parent pages of the current one the user is on, making it easy to see where you are on the website, meaning you don’t have to spend ages clicking “go back” to return to a previous page.
  • Sticky “Add to Cart” bar: As you move about the product page, the ‘add to cart’ bar moves with you, making it easier for shoppers to add items to their carts immediately rather than searching for the correct button.
  • “Load more” on collection pages: This reduces the total number of pages that load at once. Not only does this speed up the page’s load time, but it also gives the shopper the control to ‘load more’ products at their discretion when scrolling through collection pages. All in all, it’s a win-win for UX!

  • Lookbook: A lookbook is an interactive online portfolio that allows you to showcase products visually so that customers can see products in authentic contexts. For example, homeware accessories photographed in a living room or a model wearing different items of clothing that make up an outfit.
  • Product quick view: Rather than loading a separate webpage to view a product, customers can view product details in a pop-up lightbox without leaving the page they’re currently on.
  • SEO friendliness: Vendy Pro claims to be an SEO-friendly theme
  • LTR and RTL: Vendy Pro supports right-to-left and left-to-right languages, meaning you can provide customers the best experience, regardless of their language.
  • Fast: Vendy Pro boldly claims to be the “fastest Shopify theme.”

Integrations

Vendy Pro has several integrations, including:

  • EComposer: This advanced landing page builder allows you to customize Vendy Pro designs more efficiently. Currently, a deal is available, where if you buy Vendy Pro, you’ll get the EComposer partner plan free for six months. EComposer has four price plans: Free, Standard for $19/mo, Pro for $39/mo, and Premium for $139/mo.
  • Judge.me: A platform that provides extra options for showcasing customer reviews. Judge.me has two price plans: Free Forever and Awesome for $15/mo.
  • Weglot: A website translation solution that lets you translate your website into multiple languages instantly. Weglot has a 10-day free trial and four price plans: Free, Starter for $15/mo, Business for $29/mo, and Pro for $79/mo.
  • Subify: A Shopify membership app that helps you manage automatic subscriptions and recurring payments. Subify has a 14-day free trial and four price plans: Free, Essential for $9/mo, Pro for $39/mo, and Ultimate for $99/mo.

In each instance, it’s worth looking closely at what each integration’s price plans offer so you know exactly what you’re getting for your money.

Customer Support

You can get in touch with Zemez customer support in the following ways:

  • Send a message via their website
  • Send a message via Facebook Messenger
  • Network in their Facebook group

ZEMEZ also has a how-to page, with dozens of guides on using Shopify and making the most out of Vendy Pro, including titles like:

  • How to understand what the file types are in your theme download.
  • How to install theme integrations.
  • How to use some of the trickier Shopify features.

I’m impressed by how thorough these guides are!

All the above resources seem to be accessible for free. However, looking at Vendy Pro’s two price plans, technical support is also available (on both). However, the Basic plan gives you just six months of what ZEMEZ calls “premium support.” In contrast, the Lifetime plan offers, yes, you guessed it, “Lifetime support.”

ZEMEZ’s support policy outlines what’s offered in terms of support:

  • Access to theme documentation
  • Access to the aforementioned Help Center and its guides
  • Answering general questions with an average response time of up to 24 hours

User Reviews

One important thing to highlight regarding Vendy Pro is its outstanding customer reviews.

Here are a few recent reviews to provide a flavor of what the world thinks of Vendy Pro:

  • “The best service. they will make sure you are not left alone and will support swiftly and efficiently”
  • “Great! No other words. Fast reaction, good solution.”
  • “Never experienced such a great help from a template builder! Please keep up this great way of working!”

The ZEMEZ team also seems very active in replying to reviews and engaging with customers.

Pricing

Vendy Pro comes with two pricing options:

  1. The Basic subscription
  2. The lifetime subscription

The Basic subscription usually costs $149, or you can buy a lifetime subscription for $999. However, Vendy Pro is currently advertising a special deal: the annual subscription is $79, and the lifetime subscription is $249.

$249 seems reasonable compared to other themes in the Shopify store. For example, the cheapest paid-for themes come in at $180, and the most expensive at $360. But, of course, without the current sale, Vendy Pro is quite pricey!

Aside from just being a longer-term subscription, the lifetime package also has a few extra features. These are:

  • Unlimited premium support, rather than just six months.
  • Unlimited licenses rather than just one.
  • Access to additional Vendy Shopify themes, including Vendy Fashion, Vendy Shopping, and Vendy Auto.
  • Endless pop-ups vs. none on the Basic plan.

Vendy Pro’s Advantages and Drawbacks

All Shopify themes come with pros and cons, so below, I’ve quickly listed Vendy Pro’s most notable advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages

  • It’s fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices
  • It has great reviews
  • There’s a generous selection of 15 ready-made homepage designs

Drawbacks

  • If you want all the integrations, you’ll have to pay a fair amount extra
  • If you need advanced technical support, you have to pay for that

Vendy Pro: My Final Thoughts

All in all, I think Vendy Pro offers a promising multipurpose theme for those looking to enhance their Shopify store with a clean and versatile web design.

Vendy Pro presents a compelling choice for online retailers with reasonable pricing (with its current promotion), a wide array of features (including a wishlist, advanced product filters, dynamic checkout buttons, mobile optimization – the list goes on!), and extensive support, which is reportedly outstanding if the customer reviews on Trustpilot are anything to go by.

But when all is said and done, would I recommend Vendy Pro?

Probably.

Vendy Pro is undeniably slick-looking, and its reviews seem impressive. However, if minimal designs aren’t your thing, this might not be the Shopify theme for you. I’ve also been slightly surprised by the number of claims made by Vendy Pro on its website without any evidence to back it up (e.g., fast speed and SEO friendliness). Of course, it doesn’t mean these claims aren't valid; it would just be nice to know exactly how fast the theme is and what makes Vendy Pro ‘SEO-friendly.’

However, on the whole, I think Vendy Pro offers a robust suite of features for (at the time of writing) a reasonable price, making it a viable option for Shopify store owners seeking a new theme.
