Printful is a well-respected print-on-demand service with fulfillment centers worldwide, including European destinations like Latvia, Spain, and the UK.
Overall, I think Printful is incredibly intuitive to sign up for and use. You don’t need prior know-how to hit the ground running, making it an excellent option for beginners.
However, I also like that membership plans are available for more prominent POD companies that hope to scale their operations. As such, it seems Printful caters to the needs of several use cases.
I also like that there’s an extensive range of products to choose from across plenty of product categories, so there’s a good chance you’ll find wares in your niche.

Printful Pros and Cons for Dutch Users
Pros 👍
- Printful is free to use
- Printful integrates with plenty of popular eCommerce platforms and online marketplaces.
- There are plenty of products to choose from, including named brands like Adidas, Bella + Canvas, and Econscious
- Printful’s dashboard and design tools are incredibly user-friendly
- Printful’s support via live chat is excellent.
Cons 👎
- Not all brands collaborating with Printful deliver to the Netherlands; for example, Champion.
- There’s no phone support.
- There isn’t an order fulfillment center in the Netherlands. Instead, you have to set your selling region to ‘Europe’ and use neighboring centers in the UK, Latvia, and Spain.
What is Printful?
As I’ve just alluded to, Printful is an easy-to-use print-on-demand service.
Printful has 341 customizable products to choose from that you can list on your own webshop.
For instance, you can add your own designs to t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, sweatshirts, and more using Printful's editor and mockup generator.
Printful operates much like a dropshipping service, so you’ll be pleased to hear you don’t have to purchase inventory upfront, warehouse products, or ship orders to customers. Instead, Printful takes care of that.
So, when a customer places an order on your eCommerce store/online marketplace listing, Printful manages all aspects of the sale, i.e.:
- Printing
- Packing
- Shipping the order to your customer
Printful has fulfillment centers located all around the world, including Europe.
Lastly, I also think it's worth mentioning that at the time of writing, Printful had printed over 71 million items and fulfilled over one million products a month.
Pretty impressive, right?
Key Features
Quick Verdict: Printful has a decent variety of free features for customizing POD products for your Dutch eCommerce store. I love how intuitive its design-maker tool is. I didn’t need any prior knowledge to use it. Plus, it’s accessible without signing up for a free account!
Here’s a quick run-down of Printful's most noteworthy features:
- Free Design Maker tool: This makes adding designs to your chosen POD product easy. It’s as easy as uploading or dragging and dropping your graphics onto the product. On top of that, you can also add text, clip art, and stock images (€0.95 per image) or use one of Printful’s ‘Quick Designs’ to embellish your work. Alternatively, suppose you wish to outsource your designs to a professional. In that case, you can hire a designer via Fiverr within the Design Maker tool.
- Free Mockup Generator: Within the aforementioned Design Maker, you can toggle to ‘mockups’ to see your product's appearance from several different angles.
- Free Promo Maker: Access 100+ templates for creating Instagram and Facebook posts, stories, and ads
- Free Logo Maker: If you don’t already have a logo, Printful’s free logo maker is worth a try! With more than 100 customizable logo templates available, you can create a stunning logo in just a few steps.
- Integrations: Printful integrates with the majority of popular eCommerce platforms and online marketplaces, including Shopify, BigCommerce, Squarespace, WooCommerce, Wix, Etsy, eBay, and Amazon. Alternatively, if you have the coding smarts, you can use Printful's API to set up custom integrations.
- Sample products: Save 20% on three sample products.
I would be remiss not to mention again that Printful offers 341 customizable products, including t-shirts, hoodies, hats, jackets, swimwear, and home and living products.
That said, as Printful doesn’t have an order fulfillment center in the Netherlands, it’s wise to double-check the estimated delivery times for the product you’re considering (this information is available on the product listing).
Printful Product Examples
Quick Verdict: I was impressed by Printful’s product selection. There are plenty of products to choose from across a decent array of categories.
Below, I’ve listed Printful's product categories and provided a few product examples within each one:
- Men’s Clothing: hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts, polo shirts, and joggers
- Women’s Clothing: swimwear, t-shirts, hoodies, dresses, and sports bras
- Kids and Young Clothing: leggings, baby bodysuits, and shirts
- Hats: mesh hats, beanies, and baseball hats
- Accessories: tech accessories, bags, footwear, and phone cases
- Home and Living: drinkware, coasters, wall art, and home decor
Best Selling Printful Products
Quick Verdict: To find Printful’s best-selling products, head to Printful's product catalog. Click the ‘Collections’ tab in the left-side menu, then Bestsellers. Click this to see a page listing Printful's best-selling wares.
Understandably, Prinful’s bestsellers vary over time. However, when I looked at the page, the following products were on the list:
- Unisex Staple T-shirt, Bella + Canvas
- Enhanced Matte Paper Poster
- White Glossy Mug
On top of that, there’s a handy Printful blog post that disclosed the 23 best-selling POD products on the platform.
How Printful Works
Quick Verdict: Printful’s sign-up process is quick and easy, and its dashboard and interface are incredibly intuitive.
Before delving into the steps listed below, I’m assuming you already have an online store. If you don’t, and you’re set on using Printful, use one of the eCommerce platforms Printful integrates with.
With that said, here’s how to get started with Printful:
First, set up a Printful account by providing one of the following:
- Apple ID
- Your email address and password
- Facebook Account
- Google Account
Now, integrate Printful with your eCommerce store. Just choose the relevant eCommerce platform integration and follow the on-screen instructions.
From your Printful dashboard, you can:
- Browse Printful’s product catalog
- Monitor your orders
- Create product templates
- Upload files to your file library
…And more.
When designing a product, I chose a Unisex Premium Hoodie.
From the product page, I could see the following product info:
- Price
- Color options
- The option to add DTG printing or embroidery
- A detailed product description
- Sizes
- Estimated delivery times to the Netherlands
- Estimated shipping costs to the Netherlands
- A bulk price calculator
- Customization options (e.g., front, back, left sleeve, right sleeve, inside and outside label prints)
- Style and fit info
…and more!
Next, I clicked the ‘Create product template’ button, followed by ‘Start designing.’ This took me straight to the Printful Design Maker, where I could:
- Upload a new PNG or JPEG image from my computer, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
- Add text, clipart, stock images, or one of Printful ‘Quick Designs’
Once I’d finished designing my hoodie, I clicked ‘Save to template,’ and then I could ‘Add to store.’
Then, as mentioned above, when a shopper makes a purchase, the order is automatically sent to one of Printful’s fulfillment centers.
At this point, it’s worth stressing that you're liable for specifying your own retail prices, so be sure to make an allowance for a decent profit margin.
Printful Customer Support
Quick Verdict: Printful provides many valuable self-help resources, and the agents operating their live chat support are quick to respond and helpful.
Where self-help resources are concerned, Printful offers the following:
- Help Center: The home to a wide variety of articles organized by topic
- Blog: Here, you’ll find blog posts about all kinds of eCommerce-related topics
- Guides: including guides on store setup, marketing, and printing
- Printful Academy: Here, you’ll find free courses on a range of eCommerce subjects.
Alternatively, online reviews are somewhat mixed when it comes to Printful’s in-person support. Although Trustpilot users give it an average of 4.5 stars out of 5, there were a few negative reviews about the quality of customer support, with one user complaining: ‘Response time and resolution of issues is subpar.’
However, there are also plenty of positive reviews about Printful’s customer support, which I concur with as that was my experience.
Printful Pricing in Netherlands
Quick Verdict: As I’ve already mentioned, signing up and using Printful is free. However, there are two optional membership plans aimed at scaling businesses: Growth and Business.
Before we discuss these pricing plans in more detail, examining Printful’s pricing wouldn’t be complete without looking at some of the base costs of Printful’s products (prices below exclude VAT):
- Men’s Clothing: t-shirts from €6.25
- Women’s Clothing: hoodies from €18.95
- Kids and Young Clothing: leggings from €15.95
- Hats: from €11.95
- Accessories: bags from €12.75
- Home and Living: standard postcard from €1.30
Where shipping costs to the Netherlands are concerned, prices vary depending on the product.
So, let’s look at an example.
You can expect this knit beanie to be delivered within six to nine days, with shipping costs starting at €3.99 for a single product and €1.25 for an additional item.
Please note: These times and costs are estimates and may vary.
Lastly, you could enquire about Printful’s warehousing and fulfillment service if you have your own products. However, there are too many varying costs to list, but here’s a link to the relevant fees.
Now that I’ve covered everything else pricing-wise let’s discuss the two Printful membership plans mentioned above.

- 25% discounts on sample orders
- Free digitization for all embroidered products
- Access to sizeable front print for select products
Printful Netherlands Review: My Overall Verdict

In a nutshell, Printful is a feature-dense print-on-demand provider boasting:
- A decent number of fulfillment centers located around the world
- A broad range of customizable wares to choose from
- A plethora of free tools are available
All of this makes Printful an excellent option for anyone dipping their toes into the pool of POD.
Printful is also incredibly intuitive and integrates with all major ecommerce platforms, making automated fulfillment a breeze.
If you’re looking for a straightforward and free way to customize and sell POD products to customers based in the Netherlands via your own eCommerce store or online marketplace listing, Printful is certainly worth a second glance.
