5 Things to do to Prepare your Ecommerce Shop for 2017

The new year is just around the corner, and therefore it is a good idea to see if your ecommerce shop is ready for the new year, here are 5 ways to prepare, for the new year. Most of then don't take more than a few minutes but can really make a difference. 

1. Look at your numbers

The first thing you want to do when preparing for the new year is to look back at the data from the old year. Look at the products that sold the best, and look at some of the products that perhaps didn't sell quite as well. Perhaps it is time to consider cutting some of these products from your shop. Also if you find a product which is very popular, then perhaps it would be a good idea to promote this product on the first page.

2. Update your products

Now would be a good time to update your products, if you are still using shoddy photos shot with your cellphone, then it would be a good idea to get some real product shots. Remember if the information about your products is outdated, or the images look dreadful, then chances are your potential customers will go somewhere else. Make sure your shop looks reliable.

3. Make sure your Ecommerce Platform meets your needs

If you are annoyed with the way things are working on your current ecommerce platform, then now is the chance to look at some of the competitors. Perhaps Shopify or Bigcommerce meet your needs better than the platform you are currently using. 4. A/B Test

Another way to get ready for the new year is through split testing, it is no surprise that if you are trying to optimize your store, then A/B testing is a must. Therefore it is important not to neglect this, as it can be very valuable for you in the new year. You should conduct split tests now and then implement the changes during the new year. 5. Prepare for the biggest online shopping days in 2017

Since you are selling your products online, you need to be prepared for the biggest online shopping days. From 2013, the biggest days were Cyber Mondays. If you look at the different shopping days, then you might notice that most of them take place in December when people are shopping for the holidays. Since you already know this now, then it would be a good idea to make sure you do something special for this time of the year.
